The Ballachulish Bridge, from which I took this photo, joins the villages of North and South Ballachulish. As you can see, the latter consists of scarcely more than the impressive Ballachulish Hotel, and the old slipway for the ferry which used to cross the narrows between Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe before the bridge was built.

Wow. At least on the ferry, you would get chance to look at the views, which a simple camera wielded by me, doesn't do justice to. Driving over that bridge at 60mph - and one can't slow down much, there's always following traffic - I'm always twisting my neck one way and then the other, fit to give myself whiplash. So on this day I went specially, parked me little car opposite the hotel, and walked up the steps onto the footway at the side of the bridge. 'Twas damn' cold to the hands taking snapshots, though .
