Castle Castle is the second seat of the Counts and Dukes of Berg and the largest reconstructed castle in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is in the district of Solingen Burg on the Wupper River in the Bergisch land.
At the beginning of the 12th Century (after 1133) built Count Adolf II of Berg (also from the mountain, de Berge) the castle or the Neuenberg Neuchâtel (Latin for 'novus mons', 'novum castrum' or 'novi montis castrum' (Neuberg Neuburg Celebrations on the new mountain)) at a height above the Wupper.
