NN., With about 220,000 inhabitants (2002), the southernmost city of the real Egypt. Aswan is also the capital of the eponymous Gouvernement.

As you noted in antiquity that the sun on the longest day in Syene cast no shadow, moved here to the Tropic of Cancer, which is now about 60 km further south.
