Yes they are hollow. They are not naturally occuring spires. They were/are homes carved into the bedrock. Now highly eroded due to time, weather, earthquake, etc. and covered in a layer of basalt from a volcano. The entire region is an underground, rock cut city.

they are not man-made and these are not man-made.I was in capadocia, turkey , october 2008.there is meny stones like this hwo are hollow and there is people living in them in the summer.
