It is unbelievable that the Old Egyptians could vut it out of the stone mountain ! And it almost would disappear under water by
the construction of a storage reservoir that would rise higher than the temples by building a huge dam. UNESCO decided to cut the front of the mountain with the temples in large blocks and rebuild it on a higher level further inland. So this marvellous temples of pharao Ramses and Nefertari (his wife) could be saved !
