The Kumamoto Castle (Japanese熊本城Kumamoto-jo) is a castle in the city of Kumamoto in Japan. It was founded in 1469 and was built for the time large and very well fortified. The main building is a reconstruction of concrete produced from 1960, but many wooden outbuildings are created in the original condition. The castle was built during the Satsuma Rebellion, and was under siege after 53 days was conquered and burned. Kumamoto-jo, along with Himeji-jo and Matsumoto-jo is one of the three most beautiful castles in Japan
