At Dunluce Castle is one of the largest ruins of a medieval castle in Ireland. It is situated on a basalt rock at the heavily rugged north coast of the island, between the towns of Port Ball Intra and Portrush in County Antrim in Northern Ireland.
The origins of the castle reach far back in the basalt rock is even already a vorchristliches Ring Fort unauthorized action. Documented that in the year 1513 in the hands of the family was McQuillian. The castle was often besieged and in 1584 by McDonnell accepted. On 26 October 1588 near Dunluce Castle ran a treasure ship from the Spanish Armada on the basis, which was looted and the proceeds for beautification of the castle used.
