Pierre-Auguste Renoir (Limoges February 25, 1841 - Cagnes-sur-Wed, December 3rd, 1919), is one of the most famous French painters. Hardly classifiable, it belonged to the impressionist school, but it is quickly dismissed, since the 1880s.
More interested in painting portraits and the nude female as the landscape, he develops a characteristic way of painting that transcends its early influences (Fragonard, Courbet, Alfred Dehodencq, Monet, and the Italian fresco).
For about sixty years, he has painted about six thousand pictures, which is a record before Picasso.
