Split-logs are flat sided as opposed to logs with one round side (external) and one flat side (inside). This cabin was built circa 1854-56 by Joseph and Mary Hesler out of hand hewn pine and hemlock logs. I was originally located 14 miles south of Old Mission Point on the eastern shore of the peninsula. Photo by wallpapercreator.
