This Egyptian statue depicts Bastet, the original lioness warrior goddess of the sun. She later turned into purely a cat deity. In a way, I think we are just now catching up the ancients. They worshiped their felines, and if the internet is ANY judge, we too have begun to bow our heads. Ha! As it should be! Cat lovers everywhere agree.... felines are fascinating! Great image.
