The Battle of Fontenoy-en-Puisaye took place June 25 841 on the territory of the present town of Fontenoy (Yonne, France), in the heart of the Puisaye. She opposed Lothair I, the eldest son of Louis Ier le Pieux, his two brothers, Louis the Germanique and Charles le Chauve. Their nephew, King Pepin II of Aquitaine, son of Pepin I, took the side of Lothaire.
