I have loved merry-go-rounds since I was little. I've never really out grown them... There is a shopping mall near my home that has a beautiful double decker carousel, with a lot of interesting animals on it. The photographs on these carousel walls were all taken by me or my husband about a year ago.
This American Bald Eagle is one of the 2 kinds of birds on the carousel. With the United States 4th of July Holiday coming up in a couple of days from now, I chose this photo, since the Bald Eagle is an important symbol of the USA.
It wasn't very easy to get a photograph of him. A lot of kids were eager to “fly†on him that day!

PS. On a personal note, it's a great joy for me to know there's an excellent chance that the children who rode the bald eagle on the carousel that day will get to see a real one, flying free, in their lifetime. When I was young, the American Bald Eagle was on the endangered species list, but it isn't any longer! (I finally got to see a Bald Eagle in a zoo in Europe when I was in my 20's.)
