Red Wing is a city in the east of the U.S. state of Minnesota on the border with Wisconsin. It is County Seat of Goodhue County and the United States Census 2000 had 16,116 inhabitants. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has Red Wing in 2008 to its list of prominent excursions included. Red Wing was added to the list because of its "impressive architecture and enviable natural environment," added. In the early 1850s settlers came with steamboats up the Mississippi River, which landed in Red Wing. The aim of these settlers were the fruitful field areas in Goodhue County. They built mostly of wheat. Before the railroads opened up the country, the Goodhue County produces more wheat than any other county in the United States. 1873 Red Wing led the ranking with the highest wheat on envelope. The warehouses in the Port of Red Wing had a capacity of more than one million bushel of wheat.
